Me & Roboco Movie New Multiverse Roboco Revealed

The official website of the anime movie adaptation of Miyazaki Shuuhei’s Me & Roboco has announced three new cast members joining Tanaka Mayumi and Matsuo Shun as part of the “Multiverse Roboco” characters.

• Chiba Shigeru as “Classic sci-fi action world Roboco”
• Uesaka Sumire as “Romcom world Roboco”
• Nozawa Masako as “Showa era comedy world Roboco”

The site also shared a short interview with the new cast members.

Chiba Shigeru:

• Q1. It’s a familiar-looking character, but what was your first impression of the Classic sci-fi action Roboco?
  • “Huh?… Why are you here?… An apron…? Are you a guy…? A girl??… A maid??…”
• Q2. Please tell us what you focused on when playing the character and what you thought after performing the role.
  • “For me, who has only played a handful of characters who speak monotonously with almost no change in expression, the Classic sci-fi action Roboco was like finding ‘karashi renkon’ on the menu of a café in a back alley on Venus, such joy!!”
• Q3. Please share a message with everyone who is looking forward to the movie!
  • “Please sit comfortably in the theatre seat without thinking about anything, get engulfed in the chaotic world full of gags, and enjoy it at a cellular level!! (^ω^)”

Uesaka Sumire:

• Q1. What was your first impression after watching the Romcom Roboco?
  • “She’s just so, so cute, isn’t she!?
    Roboco has all the elements of a romcom heroine that anyone would fall in love with at least once.
    I had previously auditioned for the role of Roboco in the TV anime version,
    so I was very happy that I got to play her in such a way!”
• Q2. Please tell us what you focused on when playing the character and what you thought after performing the role.
  • “Other Robocos are too strong in various ways, but Love Comedy RoboCo is ‘strong in a certain way’ because she consistently pushes through with a gentle, powerless mood.
    I was conscious of her carefree, love-comedy heroine-like nature, often falling over and casually exposing herself!”

  • “The multiverse Robocos gathering in the movie… truly… amazing!!
    There’s no doubt that we will be able to witness something historically amazing!!
    As expected, Weekly Shonen Jump is amazing~!!!

Nozawa Masako:

• Q1. It’s a nostalgic Showa-era comedy Roboco, but what was your first impression?
  • “I prefer characters like this rather than serious ones. I must hold myself back because I tend to get too carried away (laughs). It’s great that anyone can enjoy the character and naturally burst into laughter.”
• Q2. Please tell us what you focused on when playing the character and what you thought after performing the role.
  • “I think funny things should not be made in advance, or they wouldn’t be funny. After all, expressing the emotions that come out in the moment makes the dialogue come alive, and I love that instant ‘Wow!’ feeling when you see it.”
• Q3. Please share a message with everyone who is looking forward to the movie!
  • “It’s a very fun movie. After watching it once with a friend, don’t just stop at one time, invite a different friend next time and watch it multiple times.
    And have the friends you watched it with invite other friends, and definitely go watch it again!”

The site also unveiled a new key visual for all five “Multiverse Roboco” and a key visual and short teaser trailer for the “Classic sci-fi action world Roboco.”
