Kousei Arima, once celebrated as the “Human Metronome” for his flawless and precise piano performances, led a life dominated by strict training under his mother’s guidance. He was a fixture in the winner’s circle at music competitions, revered by his peers and applauded by audiences. However, the sudden death of his mother left him traumatized, rendering him unable to hear the piano’s sound, which led him to step away from performing entirely.
Now a junior high student, Kousei leads a subdued life, spending his days with his friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari, while still grappling with the loss of his mother and his connection to music. His routine existence is dramatically altered when he meets the vibrant violinist, Kaori Miyazono. Kaori, with her unconventional approach to music, pulls Kousei back onto the stage as her piano accompanist, sparking a transformative journey. As they navigate their musical path, a small lie deepens their bond and Kaori begins to bring color back into Kousei’s monochromatic world.
