High school student Ooki Taiju is on the verge of confessing his love to Ogawa Yuzuriha after five years of silent longing. Just as he starts his confession, a brilliant green light engulfs the Earth, petrifying humans worldwide and turning them into stone statues.

Thousands of years later, Taiju wakes up to discover that the modern world has vanished, and nature has reclaimed the lands where humanity once thrived. In this new world of stone, he reunites with his friend Senkuu, a lover of science, who has been awake for several months already. Senkuu reveals his ambitious plan to use science to restore human civilization. Combining Taiju’s physical strength with Senkuu’s intellectual prowess, they begin to unravel a method to de-petrify humans.

Their progress, however, faces challenges from those who have different visions for the future as they awaken from their stony slumber. Meanwhile, the mystery behind the mass petrification of humanity remains unsolved.
