The official website of the anime adaptation of Aida Iro’s Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun has announced that voice actress Hanazawa Kana will join the cast of the ongoing second season as Shijima Mei.
The site also shared a short interview with Hanazawa Kana and a visual of her character, Shijima Mei.
Hanazawa Kana (voice of Shijima Mei):
- Q1. Please share your impressions when you first encountered the role (when you received the script, saw the character visuals, etc.) and after actually playing the role.
- “The story of Shijima-san in the original work had a theme that also applies to the job of a voice actor, so it really resonated with me. I am performing while thinking about the balance between her elusive, nonchalant side and the moments when she suddenly becomes terrifying.”
- Q2. Please share a message for fans looking forward to the upcoming developments.
- “Shijima-san will be toying with Nene-chan and the others, but from now on, you will get to see different sides of her, so please look forward to it!!!”

About Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun:
Hey, do you know? The story of the Seven Mysteries of this school…
The most famous rumour about the Seven Mysteries passed down at Kamome Academy is that in the third stall of the girl’s bathroom on the third floor of the old school building, there is Hanako-san, and they say that if you call her, she will grant any wish.
The method to call her is simple. Knock three times, then say:
“Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there?”
“Yes, yes…“
To have her wish granted, the occult-loving girl Yashiro Nene calls upon Hanako-san.
However, the one who appeared before her was a ghost boy, Hanako-kun.
Even though he is a ghost, he is sadistic and a little lewd, and Nene, at his mercy, gets caught up in various ghost stories.
Will Nene be able to live out her school life safely?
