The official website of The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) has announced that to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the anime adaptation of Kyou Machiko’s Cocoon manga series will receive an advance broadcast on NHK BS in late March, and a main broadcast on NHK General in August.
The site also announced the two main cast members.
- Mitsushima Hikari as Mayu
- Itou Marika as San
The site also shared four new images of the upcoming Cocoon anime.




About Cocoon:
San attends the best girls’ school in Okinawa during the last months of the Second World War, and the situation worsens to the point that she and her classmates are employed to rescue and tend to the wounded. Her friends lose their lives one after the other, and San must face a harsh reality, the horror of war through the eyes of a teenager.
