On her 15th birthday, Kagome Higurashi experiences a dramatic shift in her life when a demon drags her into her family shrine’s ancient well. She finds herself transported to the era of feudal Japan, a time when demons roamed freely. Here, Kagome becomes the target of these malevolent beings, all desiring the Shikon Jewel—a tiny orb she carries that possesses immense power.

In this perilous era, Kagome meets a half-demon named Inuyasha, who initially confuses her with Kikyou, a shrine maiden he detests. Due to her similarity to Kikyou, Inuyasha harbors a strong animosity towards Kagome. However, as they both face grave dangers, Inuyasha overcomes his resentment to assist her.

Their situation worsens when the Shikon Jewel is shattered during a battle, causing its pieces to scatter far and wide. Aware of the catastrophic potential of these fragments falling into evil hands, Kagome and Inuyasha embark on a demanding journey to retrieve them.
