The Future Diary

Amano Yukiteru, a reserved middle school student, meticulously records his daily experiences in a journal on his phone. Despite his lack of friends, he often converses with what many believe to be his imaginary friends, the time and space deity Deus Ex Machina and his aide, Mur Mur.

One morning, Yukiteru notices his diary showing events that haven’t yet occurred. Initially thinking it’s a fluke, he soon realizes that his diary predicts the future. After using this knowledge to his advantage throughout the day, Yukiteru discovers that his classmate, Gasai Yuno, has a diary with similar capabilities.

When faced with a bizarre attacker, Yukiteru and Yuno collaborate to escape and return home. It is then that Deus Ex Machina reveals they, along with 10 others, are participants in a deadly survival game. The winner is set to replace Deus as the next god. Now referred to as “Future Diaries,” their mobile devices are their only tools to navigate and survive this ruthless contest.
