The Ancient Magus’ Bride

At an auction, 15-year-old Chise Hatori, a Japanese girl, was sold for five million pounds to a mysterious, tall, masked man. Having been abandoned at a young age and ostracized for her peculiar behavior, Chise was willing to follow any buyer if it meant finding a place she could call home. As she was transported in chains, she overheard robed men discussing her fate, expressing their dissatisfaction that a Sleigh Beggy of her rarity was purchased by such a man.

Choosing to ignore their whispers, the enigmatic buyer took Chise to his study, where he revealed his identity as Elias Ainsworth, a magus. Following a brief confrontation and the use of some teleportation magic, they arrived at Elias’s quaint cottage in the English countryside. Here, surrounded by fairies and a host of mystical creatures, Chise begins her new life as both the apprentice and prospective bride of this ancient magus.
