You and Idol Precure♪ Release Date, Cast Announced

The official website of the mahou shoujo anime You and Idol Precure♪ has released a promotional video showcasing a February 2nd release date.

The main cast was announced:

• Matsuoka Misato as Sakura Uta/Cure Idol
• Takahashi Minami as Aokaze Nana/Cure Wink
• Takamori Natsumi as Shigure Kokoro/Cure Kyun Kyun

Matsuoka Misato (Sakura Uta/Cure Idol):

• Q1. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would play a PreCure.
  “I cried with surprise and joy that I would be playing the PreCure I had admired since I was a child! The staff members told me this as a surprise, and their warmth and kindness really warmed my heart. I am very honoured to be a part of something that children look up to. I will cherish and approach this series with care so that children can have the same feelings I had back then!”
  
• Q2. Please tell us what you think is the appeal of the PreCure series.
  “I still get excited talking about PreCure with my friends. I think the feelings I had as a child are so fresh, pure, and sparkling. It’s so attractive that it gives you a memory that never fades! I also appeared in “Wonderful Precure!“, and it gave me different feelings than I had when I was a child. It made me cry and laugh, it can be enjoyed by adults as well as children, so I think one of the attractions is that you want to watch it again as more years pass!”
  
• Q3. Please tell us about your enthusiasm for playing Sakura Uta/Cure Idol.
  “Uta-chan loves to sing, and she’s a girl with lots of sparkling things about her! She has an innocence and brightness that makes everyone around her want to support her, and just looking at her makes you smile, so I hope I can portray that kind of charm! I’ve received sparkle from so many people up until now. I’ll do my best to deliver this sparkle to each and every person watching! Thank you very much!”

Takahashi Minami (Aokaze Nana/Cure Wink):

• Q1. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would play a PreCure.
  “I had been waiting for this day for so long that I was overwhelmed with emotions that I couldn’t find the words. It felt like a dream, but it wasn’t a dream. I remembered all the Precure auditions I had taken until then, and the only thing I knew for sure was that I had finally met my destined Precure! I was so happy, my heart sparkled. I wanted to make the hearts of all the people who love Precure sparkle as well. At the same time, I felt a tremendous sense of responsibility… it was a positive roller coaster of emotions!”
  
• Q2. Please tell us what you think is the appeal of the PreCure series.
  “Always continuing to take on new challenges! There are many charms, but what I am particularly drawn to is how every year they take on new challenges, and how Precure as a work of art becomes even more brilliant! They are really cool and I admire them. It’s not easy to continue to be someone everyone looks up to, so I never waver from the core message I want to convey and never stop evolving. It makes me want my life to be like that.”
  
• Q3. Please tell us about your enthusiasm for playing Aokaze Nana/Cure Wink.
  “The Aokaze Nana that I play is someone who values ​​’important things’ and works hard for others. As we continue recording, I want to move forward step by step together with her so that she can work hard not only for others but also for herself and find courage! I will perform the role with all my heart, savouring this moment that I have truly been waiting for in my life. And I am happy that not only myself but also the people at the agency are really pleased with it. I can’t wait to share this happiness with all my fans, friends and family soon!!! Everyone!!! Takahashi Minami is going to be a Precure!!!!!!!”

Takamori Natsumi (Shigure Kokoro/Cure Kyun Kyun):

• Q1. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would play a PreCure.
  “I was filled with disbelief that I was going to be a Precure! I asked myself many times, ‘Really? Really? Are you joking?’ and it turned out to be true, but when I got home that day, emotions slowly welled up inside me and tears started to flow. Even now, I still feel like I’m dreaming a little bit, but I want to savour the meaning of being entrusted with the role of a Precure, and cherish the year ahead as I work on the project.”
  
• Q2. Please tell us what you think is the appeal of the PreCure series.
  “I was in charge of the role of Kome-Kome in “Delicious Party ♡ Precure“, and watching the Precure from close by for a year, I thought it was a work that was so warm, cool, and sparkling, and gave so much love. It taught me all kinds of feelings, such as kindness, strength of heart, and sometimes the urge to run away. Above all, it gives me so much excitement and sparkle every week… I really love that about it.”
  
• Q3. Please tell us about your enthusiasm for playing Shigure Kokoro/Cure Kyun Kyun.
  “When I first saw the illustration of Cure Kyun Kyun, I was surprised at how cute and adorable she was. At first, I imagined her acting based on her name and cute appearance, but I feel like my impression of her has changed a lot as I’ve come to know Kokoro little by little. I think the word “kyun kyun” can refer to excitement, Kokoro’s passion, fighting spirit, and all other aspects of a passionate heart, so I hope I can portray that carefully and with care. Kokoro made my dream come true, so now it’s my turn to support her and make her kyun kyun with all my might so that she can shine brightly.”

The opening theme was revealed to be “Kimi to Idol Precure♪ Light Up!” by Chihaya Yoshitake, Ami Ishii, and Akane Kumada. The ending theme will be “Trio Dreams” by Uta/Cure Idol (Matsuoka Misato), Aokaze Nana/Cure Wink (Takahashi Minami), and Kokoro/Cure Kyun Kyun (Takamori Natsumi).

New singles by all three characters were also announced, and will be released on February 1:

• “Egao no Yunizon” by Sakura Uta/Cure Idol (Matsuoka Misato)
• “Mabataki no Gosenfu” by Aokaze Nana/Cure Wink (Takahashi Minami)

I’m Sakura Uta! I’m a second-year middle school student who loves to sing!
One day, I was taking my dog Kyu-chan for a walk when I suddenly saw a big peach-like thing floating down the river and met a cute, talking fairy named Purirun! Purirun has come to find the legendary saviour, Idol Precure!
My hometown, Kirakira Land, was a peaceful place full of sparkles, but it was turned into complete darkness by Darkine, the boss of the Chokkiri Gang. So I decided to search for Idol Precure with Purirun, who can light up the darkness with light! Then, the Chokkiri Gang appeared in Hanamichi Town, and the sparkles of the people in the town were stolen! It’s a big crisis!

The moment I made that decision, the “Pretty Cure Ribbon” and “Idol Heart Brooch” appeared and I transformed into the legendary saviour, Cure Idol!?
