The official website of the romcom anime Can a Boy–Girl Friendship Hold Up? (No, It Can’t!!) announced the anime will air in April 2025.
Toya Kikunosuke and Suzushiro Sayumi will voice the main characters, Natsume Yuu and Inuzuka Himari, respectively.
Messages from the cast were also shared with Toya Kikunosuke stating: “I’m Toya Kikunosuke, the voice of Natsume Yuu! This work answers the unresolved question of “Can men and women be friends?” with a “No, they don’t!”
The thrill of being torn between friendship and love, and the fast-paced and funny conversations between Himari and Yuu are all off the charts, so it’s been a lot of fun doing the voice recordings.
Every episode makes me laugh and get excited. I feel like I’ve become ten years younger thanks to this anime. Seriously! Please look forward to the anime airing!”

Suzushiro Sayumi added: “I’m Suzushiro Sayumi, and I will be playing the role of Inuzuka Himari. I enjoyed reading the original work, drawn in by the catchy title, which has a theme people seem to be talking about in real life.
The atmosphere is frustrating and sad, as they are best friends, but are anxious about the line they cannot cross, yet they still want to step in!
I think Himari’s slightly unconventional side adds a nice spice to the show, so please look forward to the broadcast, including that side of her!”

A new key visual was also unveiled.
